The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
