Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
