The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
