Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
