And to (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you. Lo! this is the camel of Allah, a token unto you; so let her feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you. 73 And remember when He made you successors after the 'Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." 74 The proud ones among Salih's people asked his oppressed followers, "Do you (really) know that Salih is a Messenger of his Lord?" They replied, "We have faith in the Message which he preaches". 75 Those who were proud said: 'We disbelieve in that which you believed in' 76 Then they hamstrung the she-camel and rebelled against the command of their Lord, and said: "Bring, O Saleh, on us the affliction you promise, if you are one of the sent ones." 77 So the earthquake overwhelmed them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling places. 78 Saleh therefore turned away from them and said, “O my people! Indeed I did deliver my Lord’s message to you and wished you good, but you do not want well-wishers.” (The people in the graves can hear the speech of those who are on earth.) 79 And We sent Lut – when he said to his people, “What! You commit the shameful acts which no one in the creation has ever done before you?” 80 Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people." 81 Their only answer was: 'Banish them from your town. They are a people who pretend to be pure.' 82 We saved him and all his family, except his wife, who was made to remain, 83 And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 84
