THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We bestowed the clear Book to both of them. 117 and guided them to the straight path; 118 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon on both of them in the latter (generations), 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night. Will ye not therefore reflect? 138
