The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
