The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
