A multitude of those of old 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 and drink boiling water on top of that, 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
