The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
