Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 From the guilty. 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
