And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 no loyal friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
