The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
