And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel peace be upon him.) 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Poets (Alshu'araa'). Sent down in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
