The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
