The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
