The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
