Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A large group from the earlier generations. 39 and a large group of those of later times. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 And drink as drinks the thirsty camel. 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 (Saying:) 'We are laden with debts! 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
