Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Mankind! fear your Lord; verily the quake of the Hour shall be a thing mighty. 1 when that Day comes, every suckling mother shall forsake her infant and every pregnant woman shall cast her burden and everyone will appear intoxicated, although they are not: the punishment of God will be severe indeed. 2 Among mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah without knowledge, and followeth each froward devil; 3 against whom it is written down that whosoever takes him for a friend, him he leads astray, and he guides him to the chastisement of the burning. 4 O mankind! if ye are in doubt concerning the Resurrection, then lo! We have created you from dust, then from a drop of seed, then from a clot, then from a little lump of flesh shapely and shapeless, that We may make (it) clear for you. And We cause what We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed time, and afterward We bring you forth as infants, then (give you growth) that ye attain your full strength. And among you there is he who dieth (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the most abject time of life, so that, after knowledge, he knoweth naught. And thou (Muhammad) seest the earth barren, but when We send down water thereon, it doth thrill and swell and put forth every lovely kind (of growth). 5 That is because God -- He is the Truth, and brings the dead to life, and is powerful over everything, 6 And the Hour is sure to come there is no doubt. And Allah will raise up those in the graves. 7 And among men there is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and without guidance and without an illuminating book, 8 Bending his neck in pride (far astray from the Path of Allah), and leading (others) too (far) astray from the Path of Allah. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning (Fire). 9 That is because of that which thy hands have sent forth, and verily Allah is not a wronger of His bondmen. 10
