In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 What is promised will surely come to pass. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
