The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by this city 1 and thou art a lodger in this land; 2 And by the giver of birth, and whom he fathered, 3 Certainly We have created man to be in distress. 4 Thinks he that none can overcome him? 5 He says, “I destroyed vast wealth.” 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Did We not assign unto him two eyes 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 and guided him on the two paths (of good and evil)? 10 But he hath not attempted the Ascent - 11 And what have you understood, what the valley is! 12 It is the freeing of a slave; 13 or giving food upon a day of hunger 14 To an orphan, having relationship, 15 Or to a Miskin (poor) afflicted with misery. 16 And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind. 17 These are the people of the right hand. 18 But those who disbelieve in Our verses, they are the Companions of the Left, 19 Upon them is a fire, in which they are imprisoned, closed and shut above them. 20
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
