The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And the night when it covers with darkness. 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa). Sent down in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
