A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 whereas those whose weight is light in the balance - it is they who will have squandered their own selves by their wilful rejection of Our messages. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
