He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. 11 He has subjected to you the night, the day, the sun and the moon. The stars are subjected by His Command. Surely, in that there is a sign for a nation who understands. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 He set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake with you; and rivers, and roads, in order that you are guided. 15 and waymarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal. 19 And those they call upon, apart from God, created nothing, and themselves are created, 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
