Aaron had told them before, "My people, you are deceived by the calf. Your Lord is the Beneficent God. Follow me and obey my orders". 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Musa said: O Harun! what prevented thee, when thou sawest them going astray. 92 From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?" 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 (Samiri) said: "I saw what they saw not, so I took a handful (of dust) from the hoof print of the messenger [Jibrael's (Gabriel) horse] and threw it [into the fire in which were put the ornaments of the Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, or into the calf]. Thus my inner-self suggested to me." 96 Moses said, "Begone! It shall be your lot to say throughout your life, "Do not touch me," and you will be faced with a fate from which there will be no escape. Now look at your deity to which you have become so devoted: we shall burn it up, and then scatter it into the sea. 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever turns away from it will surely carry a burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 Abiding in this (state), and evil will it be for them to bear on the day of resurrection; 101 the Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded and We shall muster the sinners, their eyes turned blue with terror. 102 They shall consult together secretly: You did tarry but ten (centuries). 103 We know well what they will say when the most upright among them will say: "You did not tarry more than a day." 104
