And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
