(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
