Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Honorable recorders, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
