Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
