The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
