۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In gardens of delight, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
