The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
