The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 and by the promised Day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 by a burning fire 5 when they were seated around it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
