Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 The One Who created death and life to test you – who among you has the better deeds; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Oft Forgiving. 2 He created seven heavens one above the other in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the Gracious One. Then look once again: can you see any flaw? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
