The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
