Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 and we glorify God". 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would be helped, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
