And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
