Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
