The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
