The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
