۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
