(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
