The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
