The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
