The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
