Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Dawn, 1 And the ten nights, 2 And by oath of the even and the odd. 3 And [by] the night when it passes, 4 There is indeed in them (the above oaths) sufficient proofs for men of understanding (and that, they should avoid all kinds of sins and disbeliefs, etc.)! 5 Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),- 6 Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars, 7 The like of which were not created in the (other) cities; 8 And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? 9 and with Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles? 10 They were tyrants in the land 11 spreading in them much corruption? 12 (Therefore) your Lord let loose upon them a scourge of punishment; 13 for, indeed, your Sustainer is ever on the watch! 14 As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me. 15 But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' 16 No indeed; but you honour not the orphan, 17 and you do not urge one another to feed the needy, 18 And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, 19 And love wealth with abounding love. 20 No indeed! When the earth is ground to powder, 21 And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, 22 And when hell is brought that day on that day will man reflect, but where is the time now to think? 23 He will say, "Would that I had done some good deeds for this life". 24 But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement, 25 And none will bind as He will bind. 26 O thou peaceful soul! 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. 28 Enter thou among My servants! 29 Enter thou My Paradise!' 30
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
