The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner," 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
