Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 well-nigh bursting with fury; [and] every time a host [of such sinners] is flung into it, its keepers will ask them, "Has no warner ever come to you?" 8 They will say, “Yes, why not – indeed a Herald of Warning did come to us – in response we denied and said ‘Allah has not sent down anything – you are not except in a great error’.” 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them). 14
