Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups set at hand. 14 cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
