The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 and the scarers scaring 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
